Mct Submarine cable has now connected to Cambodia, Mittepheap landing station, Sihanoukville

Telcotech, subsidiary of EZECOM, announced MCT Submarine Cable System in June 2013 and expected the cable to be operational by the first quarter of 2017. Recently, Telcotech has completed the construction of MCT Landing Station in Sihanouk ville which is named “Mittepheap Landing Station” at Otres Beach Sihanoukville. MCT cable system spans approximately 1,300 kilometers and adopts state-of-the-art 100 Gbps technology and will support a capacity of at least 30 Tbps. It will position Cambodia as the gateway to Asia which enable Cambodia to harvest the Asia traffic and extend the connectivity to ASEAN and the rest of the world via Malaysia and Thailand. This submarine cable system costs around 100 million dollars.”With the arrival of MCT, Telcotech will be contributing in the promotion of internet connection and independency in telecommunication sector whilst increasing Cambodia’s telecommunication’s capacity to ensure security and safety of data”, said Mr. Than Then, Head of Commercial of EZECOM. “The installation of MCT submarine cable proves the nation’s strength in the independency of proving faster internet service while being able to ensure security and safety of information technology and telecommunication data”, he added. “This inspection by H.E Moa Chakrya is to oversee the company’s technical capability in submarine cable installation which is the first submarine cable project in Cambodia.
